The Greek registry, without the jargon

Why is the term always 2 years?
The .gr registry, run by EETT and operated by ICS-FORTH, registers and renews names in fixed 2-year blocks (extendable up to 10 years). There's no 1-year option to offer — so every price on this page is for two years.
How does a .gr transfer work — is there an auth code?
No. Unlike .com and other gTLDs, .gr domains have no registrar lock or EPP auth code. You start the transfer here, we submit it to the .gr registry, and you approve it as the registrant — the registry confirms with you by email before anything moves.
Does a transfer reset my expiry date?
No. A transfer is a change of registrar, not a new registration — your remaining paid time comes with the domain. Adding 2 years on transfer is optional and simply stacks on top of what's left.
Do you host my website or email?
No — Domainwise is a registrar, not a host. We set your domain's nameserver delegation; you point it at your own DNS, hosting and mailbox providers. What we do offer is DNS management over your own Cloudflare account — see below. For email specifically, our sibling app Sendrill handles sending in the same workspace.
Can I manage DNS from Domainwise?
Yes — over your own Cloudflare account, not ours. You connect Cloudflare once from your workspace, link a domain to a zone (or have one created in your account), and manage the records here: create, edit, delete, import a zone file, and set each record's Cloudflare proxy state. Linking alone never touches your nameservers. When you're ready, Activate switches the .gr delegation to the Cloudflare pair — gated by a pre-flight check on your records, and reversible: Revert puts the previous nameservers back, and we never delete a zone in your account.
Is my registrant data public?
.gr WHOIS is public by registry policy and there is no privacy-proxy option for Greek domains. We show you the exact fields that will be published — organisation, ΑΦΜ, admin contact — before a registration completes.
