Terms of service

These are the terms on which we provide Domainwise. The thing to understand first is that we are not selling you a domain — we are submitting an application to the .gr registry on your behalf. The registry assigns the name, sets the rules, and has the final word.

1. Who these terms are with

Domainwise is provided by eSolutions Softhouse Limited, Samou 5, Paphos, Cyprus ("we", "us"). By creating a workspace or submitting an application through Domainwise you accept these terms on behalf of yourself or the organisation you represent ("you").

2. What the service is

Domainwise registers, transfers, renews and delegates domains in the .gr namespace and its second-level namespaces, from your workspace inside CookieTrust. We submit your applications to the registry, keep your registrant details current, set the nameservers you tell us to set, and show you what the registry did.

We are a registrar, not a host. We do not host your website, your DNS zone or your mailboxes. We point the domain at the nameservers you nominate; everything behind them is yours to run.

If you use Cloudflare, you can connect your own Cloudflare account and manage that zone's DNS records from your workspace. The account, the zone and your relationship with Cloudflare stay yours and are governed by Cloudflare's own terms; we act on the access you delegate to us, we are not responsible for Cloudflare's service, and you can disconnect at any time. Switching your .gr delegation to Cloudflare is an action you trigger, and it is reversible — we restore the previous nameservers on request, and we never delete a zone in your account.

3. The registry's rules come first

The .gr namespace is governed by EETT and operated by ICS-FORTH. Their regulation governs your domain, and where anything in these terms conflicts with it, the regulation wins.

In practice that means: a name is assigned by the registry, not sold by us, and we cannot guarantee any application will succeed; the registry may reject an application, and restricted namespaces such as .edu.gr and .gov.gr require eligibility we cannot grant; the registry may suspend, revoke or reassign a name under its own rules or a decision of EETT; and disputes over who is entitled to a name are decided under the registry's dispute procedure, not by us.

Availability shown on this site is a snapshot, not a reservation. A name is only yours once the registry assigns it, and a name that was free when you searched can be taken before you pay.

4. Your account and your registrant details

You are responsible for everything done under your workspace and for keeping your sign-in credentials secret. Tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.

Registrant details must be accurate and kept up to date. This is not paperwork for its own sake: the registry treats false or stale registrant data as grounds to revoke a name, and the registrant email address is where the registry sends the confirmations that transfers and certain changes depend on. If that mailbox does not work, those operations do not complete.

You confirm that you are entitled to apply for each name you ask us to submit, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's trademark or other right.

5. Public WHOIS

Registrant details for a .gr domain are published in a public WHOIS by registry policy, and there is no privacy-proxy option for Greek domains. We show you the exact fields before an application is submitted; asking us to submit it means accepting that publication. The privacy notice sets out what is published and what you can do about it.

6. Terms, prices and billing

The registry sells in fixed 2-year blocks, so every registration and renewal here is for two years — there is no one-year option to offer. Prices are in euro and quoted excluding VAT, which is added at checkout where applicable:

The price you are charged is the one shown in your workspace at checkout; this table describes our standard pricing, and the workspace is where a particular order is priced. Payment is by card through Stripe, in advance. What you pay to register is what you pay to renew — we do not run a low first term and raise it afterwards — but we may change standard prices for future terms, and we will tell you before a change affects a renewal of yours.

7. Refunds and the right of withdrawal

Once the registry has accepted an application, the fee has been spent on an assignment we cannot undo, so registrations and renewals are not refundable. If an application fails — the registry rejects it, or the name is taken before we can submit it — you get your money back in full.

If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By asking us to submit an application immediately you ask for performance to begin within that period and accept that the right of withdrawal is lost once the name is registered. Until we submit, you can still cancel and be refunded.

8. Renewal and expiry

We send expiry reminders 60, 30 and 7 days before a domain expires. With auto-renew switched on we renew about 30 days before expiry, provided a valid payment method is on file.

If a domain is not renewed, the registry moves it through its own expiry stages and it eventually becomes available for anyone to register. Recovery during those stages is at the registry's discretion, not ours. Keeping a domain alive is ultimately your responsibility — the reminders and auto-renew exist to make that easy, not to transfer the risk to us.

9. Transfers

Transferring a .gr to us is free. There is no registrar lock and no EPP auth code: we submit the request to the registry and you approve it as the registrant, from the registrant email address. A transfer is a change of registrar, not a new registration — your remaining term carries over, and adding two years during a transfer is optional.

Transferring away is your right and we will not obstruct it. We do not charge for it and we do not require you to close an account or clear a balance first.

10. Acceptable use

You may not use a domain registered through us for phishing, malware distribution, or any activity unlawful where you are or where your users are, and you may not register names in bad faith against someone else's trademark. You may not abuse the availability search or our API with automated bulk querying.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close a workspace that breaks section 10, whose registrant details are knowingly false, or whose invoices go unpaid after notice. Where a breach is fixable we will say what has to change and give you a chance to do it. Separately, the registry may act against a domain under its own rules, and we must follow such a decision. You may close your account at any time; transfer your domains out first, because closing an account does not cancel a registration and an unmanaged domain will expire.

12. Liability

The service is provided with reasonable skill and care, but without a warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or lost goodwill. We are not liable for decisions of the registry — rejection, suspension, revocation, dispute outcomes or registry downtime — beyond our own failure to submit or act correctly. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects the rights consumer law gives you.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give you notice in the app or by email before they take effect, and continuing to use Domainwise after that date means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction — without affecting any protection consumer law gives you in your own country, or the application of the .gr registry's own regulation and dispute procedure to your domain.
