What a .gr domain renewal really costs
The price you see first is usually the registration price. The one you keep paying, every two years for as long as you keep the domain, is the renewal. Here are .gr renewal prices as a customer in Greece actually pays them.

Three things to check in any price list
- Per year or per two years? The .gr registry registers and renews names in two-year blocks, but some registrars show a price per year. Double it to get what you actually pay.
- With or without VAT? Most Greek registrars list prices without VAT. A customer in Greece pays 24% on top.
- Registration or renewal? A low headline price is often for new registrations only. The renewal price is usually further down the list, and it is the one you keep paying.

How Domainwise prices a .gr

Why does a .gr renewal cost more than the registration?
Many registrars advertise a low price for new registrations and charge their regular price at renewal. At Domainwise registration and renewal cost the same: 15€ for two years.
Does the 15€ include VAT?
15€ is the final price. No VAT is added at checkout.
Is a .gr renewed every year?
No. The .gr registry renews names in two-year blocks, so a renewal always covers at least two years.
What happens if I don't renew in time?
After the expiry date there is a 15-day period in which only the current holder can still renew the domain. After that, anyone can register it.
